How to remove makeup

Many women put makeup on every day. Some like to put a lot on, while others opt for a bit of eyeliner or foundation. Whatever you choose, you need to learn how to remove makeup effectively to protect your skin. Here are four tips that you need to follow on a daily basis.

Avoid Baby Wipes!

Baby wipes are not designed to remove makeup. They’re designed to clean babies’ bottoms, and protect the sensitive area. They don’t do the deep clean that you will need.  There are some makeup wipes out there, but they’re not good as a regular substitute; just when you really can’t clean all the makeup off your face with your regular routine.

The wipes are ok to get a start, but you will need to go through a full removal routine to get rid of all residue and clean your pores. Try using them to remove your eye makeup first, and then move onto the next part.

Use a Facial Cleaner

Start by using warm water and a facial cleaner. Avoid those that contain soap as they will dry out your skin. Run a basin of the warm water and wash your face thoroughly. If you’ve not used wipes, take a cotton wool ball and use the water to clean your eye makeup.

Exfoliate Your Skin

Once you’ve washed all the makeup off your face, it is time to get into those pores. Leaving makeup in there will just lead to acne and blackheads. There are plenty of exfoliates available on the market, or you can make your own natural ones. The choice is completely up to you. If you are going to make a natural one, think about the sensitivity of your skin.

Never rub your skin dry. This just damages it. Pat it dry with a fresh, clean towel. You may find paper towels are better for your face to avoid any residue getting into your skin.

Use a Moisturizing Cream

Finally, apply a thin layer of moisturizer on your face. This is a great way to protect your pores from a buildup of dirt and grease. It will also leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated. Look out for those that are specifically designed for your face to avoid sensitivity and breakout problems.

Learning how to remove makeup is quick and simple. Do this every night and you will have fresh, clear skin.
